Cricket Scotland have announced the draws for the Men's and Women's Cup competitions.
The Men's first round tie is away to Drumpellier at Langloan on Sunday 7th May. This is a repeat of our draw in 2013, when we suffered a surprise defeat following our 2012 league-winning season. More recently, the two teams met at the quarter-final stage in 2021. The initial fixture at Langloan was abandoned due to rain, with Watsonian triumphing at Myreside en route to the final that year. Drumpellier is a storied side, having won the Scottish Cup nearly as many times (4) as Watsonian has been runner-up (5).
The Women's T20 Cup takes place after the conclusion of the league, so there's a bit of a wait until we visit Carlton at Grange Loan on Sunday 6th August. Carlton are a very strong side, winners of last year's WPL, but the Women's Cup competition has seen a variety of winners to date, including our neighbours GWCGCC in 2017's inaugural competition and Northern Lights last year in their debut season.
